Instructions
1. Use a sanding block with suitable sandpaper for the Solid surface. For a matte-satin finish, use 180 to 220 grit sandpaper. For a semi-gloss surface, use a 400 grit sandpaper and for a high gloss surface use 400 grit sandpaper and finish with 600 grit sandpaper. Sanding the surface will help to remove scratches from the Solid Surface surfaces before polishing. Lightly sand the Solid Surface surface to remove all cuts and scratches completely.
2. Use a non-abrasive Solid Surface cleanser and apply it on the surface with Scotch Brite pads to restore the gloss. Gently buff with the low speed polisher to buff the surface and improve the sheen of the gloss.
3. Put the white polishing compound on the surface. You can either rub the polish in using Scotch Brite pads in a circular motion or use the low speed polisher to rub the polish into the surface. Choose a polish after carefully reading the instructions of the manufacturer. The polish must be guaranteed to work well on a Solid Surface surface. After polishing, rub off any excess polish. After completing the polishing process, leave the surface to dry completely.
4. Apply the counter top wax with a soft polishing cloth. Use a circular motion and gently rub the wax into the surface. The wax will serve as a protective layer and preserve the color of the Solid Surface surface. Rub the wax into the surface until it is invisible. Wait until the first layer is dry and put on another layer of wax. Use another polishing cloth to rub off the excess wax to prevent a streaking effect. Leave the surface to dry completely.
5. Clean the polished surface. Rub the surface with a damp cloth dipped in mild detergent and leave the surface to dry. After the surface is dry, wipe the surface with a cloth dipped in a solution of water and household bleach. This final touch will effectively disinfect the polished surface.
